Range finder question
I want to purchase a range finder because i cant determine distance after 100 yards. I am hunting with a 7mm rem mag rifle and will probably not take a shot over 200 yards. It would be nice to know the approximate distance, because i know i can shoot flat to 200 yards.
Would i need to buy a $175.00+ lazer range finder, or would a cheapy golf digital range finder be suffiecent. Thanks for your opinions Joe |
RE: Range finder question
I shoot a Browning A-Bolt 7mm Rem Mag & will drop a deer in his tracks at 300 yards, & I use the same gun to hunt Elk. I would get a good rangefinder you won't be sorry.

RE: Range finder question
If that's the only distance you're interested in (under 200 yds and you know your gun shoots flat to 200 ds) - I'd find a field and pace or measure off 200 yds and practice looking at it - using your scope. With practice you can get pretty good at estimating short distances like this.

RE: Range finder question
With that gun, just sight it in at 200 and put you cross hairs where you want it. It will be ok for up to 300+ yards. My 7mmrum shots very flat out to 400 yards with my hand loads.
