Smitty Duck/Goose Blind- Dimensions 46" Dia. x 50" high, 31" Dia. opening, 125Lb., vol. 31 cu.
These are new Fiberglass in ground blinds. Fiberglass for long life, anchor flanges do a perfect job of holding the pit down in the ground, nice storage shelf all the way around the pit to keep your gear high/dry/handy.A 360-degree, swivel seat allowed the hunter to see ducks coming from all distances.

The enclosure afforded room to shoot. A heater gave warmth. And convenient shelving for ammo, food, and other supplies made it a luxury in the reeds.

I have 4 new blinds. Retail for $1,600. For sale at $800. each.

The following quote appeared in a blog, in 2004, on a duck hunters forum,
it is in response to a hunter looking to buy a pit blind.

"I have actually hunted out of those Smitty blinds, and I can tell you
they are NICE. The rub is that they are expensive. Very well thought
out design, though.......fiberglass=long life, anchor flanges do a good
job of holding the pit down in the ground, nice storage shelf all the way
around the pit to keep your gear high/dry/handy. If you only need one
or two and you own the ground, I'd be very tempted to spend the $$"

The Smitty blind is named after its inventor, Henry Smith, an ardent waterfowl er , who, along with fellow
owners of their duck club designed the Smitty one-man pit blind. Henry Smith then produced the blind and sold hundreds over the years. Most of these blinds are still in the ground and in use today. Testimony to the outstanding design and bulletproof fiberglass construction.

We had enjoyed hunting from these blinds for many years and when the opportunity came up Yellow Lab Duck Blinds purchased the company assets and are continuing to produce the Smitty one-man blind. Our other products include fiberglass dog pits and a stand alone" version of the Smitty offset -arm blind seat, that is intended for use any blind.

Smitty features
Fiberglass Composite Construction.........Ensures an almost forever blind. Many have been in the ground and in continuous use for 40 plus years, most are in salt marshes, where blinds made of other materials have a very limited life. Fiberglass blinds are warmer to hunt from, shoot more quiet, have an almost unlimited life, and are safer, in that if an accidental in blind gun discharge occurs fiberglass will adsorb the shot, ,not richose it through out the blind as can occur with steel and concrete.
Ease of installation Blinds are designed with a flange all around the exterior mid section of the blind. The flange provides a large reinforced surface area where post secured 4"x4" beams are positioned and apply the restraining force to keep the blind from popping. Installing the blind at zero grade, even with high water levels, is not a problem. The blinds flange is located 22 inches below the top of the blind, insuring that all of the wood installation framework will be hidden well below ground level.
Abundant Storage Built in fiberglass shelving provides 360 degree storage around each hunter. Shelving is located 12 inches above the floor and well away from muddy boots.
\ Offset Arm Swivel Seat Two piece cast aluminum adjustable height seat rides on a one inch diameter stainless steel post /assembly that is molded into the bottom of the blind. The seat rotates smoothly on it's self lubricating nylon bushing. The 11 inch offset feature of the seat makes for more leg room in front and moves you back against the inside upper wall of the blind, giving you a backrest anywhere, all the time, through all of your rotational movement. A GREAT feature. Continue....

Gun Butt Rest Pad A pad is incorporated into the lower front of the seats aluminum casting and serves as a rest for your gun butt when hunting. When seated and with your gun on this
pad and between your legs you are in the ready position. As you rotate on the seat you and your gun move as a unit, your gun is always in front of you and you are always in the "ready" position, regardless of where you are facing. Another GREAT feature.

Easy In-N-Out of Blind The one-man blind has one internal and two recessed cup steps in the blind body that can be seen as protrusions on the upper exterior of the blind.

Weatherproof Lid One-man blind, fiberglass, weatherproof, critter proof, and sinkable lid for off blind concealment. Lids are sinkable for off blind concelement. A lock can be added for security.

Blind Dimensions One-man 46" Dia. x 50" high, 31" Dia. opening, 125Lb., vol. 31 cu. ft
