Suggestions For Gear

I am looking into buying some new hunting gear to wear. Any suggestions? I see some with water repellent technology and others without. Which do you prefer and why?

Appreciate the help.

where do you hunt at, is it COLD or warm, waterproof gear tends to be louder than NON waterproof gear
Gor tex , when temps get REALLY low, can be outright LOUD< as it gets like wax paper
in hunting gear you most times get what you pay for
I like a lot of Cabela's gear
for super cold, raven wear is about the best I own and want, super warm and quiet, they have AWESOME gear even lighter weight stuff but VERY high end and pricy

yrs back they had a lot of things in what was called Saddle Cloth, and to me the stuff was awesome, then, for patent reasons it seems they dropped it
Sport Chief made some awesome gear for reasonable prices and still does

best advice I can tell you is go and LOOK at items before buying and see HOW well they fit or DON"T
good base layers are your best starting point
don't always buy into the hype media drills into us today, MANY BIG Bucks were killed by guys in jeans and work gear
key to all clothing IMO< is keep hunting gear for hunting, never wear for pumping fuel or in food places, and keep as scent free as possible
and you will be good
