why don't you clean up the metal? shine it up and make it look nice and not 10000 yrs old? i can't help but think you would sell more? I'm sure they are top quality knives, but to me they look old and worn out.

RE: hand forged knives available
thats a deliberate patina achieved by acid etching the steel. ya want shiny? heres shiny ...and its for sale! *grins*
ENTIRELY hand forged, filed and finished 1095 steel with a labrodorite inset and offset brass plaques
~ hand stitched vegtan sheath~~ 550 USD ~~
and heres one thats sold already.
that one was 5160 steel with mild steel fittings and curly maple handle, again entirely hand forged and finished. sold for 450
so I can do shiny, what ya need?

RE: hand forged knives available
oh, almost forgot, heres another shiny one
although the pic doesnt do justice to its finish,
that one was done in 5160 with wrought iron fittings ( hence the "wood grain look" of the guards ) with thuya burl, purpleheart and maple handle.
that one sold for 250
basically in answer to your question, the reason I do various finishes is for variety, I'm an artist, not a factory... and I like to vary my styles and techniques, some people like shiny, some people like rustic, its a personal preference thing.
although I appreciate your well meant advice FYI my knives sell fine thanks

Wish I had the funds right now to buy, but if I were dropping money on one of these, it would be the old worn out looking ones. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I think they are rustic looking and beautiful.
Will be keeping your name handy for my next hunting knife purchase!!
