What kind of knife?

Any recommendations on a solid field knife? Something that I could beat up if I had to, but will take care of dressing my kills.

Can't go wrong with a Buck or Case. Really depends on what your looking to spend....

I have a Cutco clip point outdoor knife with bright orange rubber handle. It has a forever guarantee.

FOREVER REPLACEMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR MISUSE OR ABUSE

[ul][*]Should you damage your CUTCO through misuse or abuse, we will replace the item for one half of the current retail price plus shipping/handling and tax.[*]Send the product with an explanatory note to the CUTCO address below.[/ul]
I would have never thought of them for hunting knifes. I have gutted at least 15 deer with it and still is very sharp. You can find them cheaper on Ebay.

Whatever you do do not think you need a machette to gut an animal. I see so many guys with like a rambo knife when a small 4 inch, not too wide, bladed knife from a good named company that keeps a good edge and takes a sharpening will do any job. My stand by is an old case straight blade my grandpop gave me.

{Whatever you do do not think you need a machette to gut an animal.}

I resemble that remark. LOL
Years ago my wife bought me a hunting knife at a cookware party. It hasprobably a six inch blade and looks like something you'd find on the kitchen counter rather than a hunting knife. But man that thing is great. Holds a great edge and I don't know how many times I've split a pelvis with it.
It has the Chefco brand name, but I can't find a website to see what else they may carry.
