RE: porta climb tree stand
They look interesting, fairly strong, but look like they would be heavy.

Porta Climb
I have used one for the past 28 years. It is the best climbing stand I have ever used.

porta climb treestands from Reese Unz
I have bought an owned 7 porta climb convertible climbers in some 25plus yrs. THERE IS NO BETTER CLIMBING STAND ANYWHERE. I have had the standard size and the larger size, I'm a 'hefty' fella, and the larger size is perfect for me. I prefer to hunt facing the tree, (it's easy to swing around the tree to get and angle). I like them so much, i have given them as gifts to friends, with the certainty that they are effective, and above all, SAFE. I have even slept in mine, they are THAT comfortable. The weight is minimal, considering they are welded steel, easy to set up, climb, shoot from, and take down. I drilled a small hole in the apex of the top and bottom outside blade, ran a length of strong rope between the upper and bottom blades, and it is impossible to lose the bottom half. A hunter would have to intentionally try to fall out of this stand. LOL
nuff said, buy one you won't be sorry. |
