Polaris

I own a 2001 Polaris 500 HO and have not had a problem what so ever:) While I own a Polaris, I will not bash any of the other models because I think they all make good products, It boils down to preference. Just like people say Ford is better than Chevy and Chevy is better than Dodge and Dodge is better that Toyota.......etc.

I must admit it is funny reading how some people will bash certain ATV's

Oh, I also own a Honda (TRX 90, My kid's) It is bullet proof!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also own a 500 Polaris, and for the most part, any problems I have encountered have been self inflicted. Yes there are other great bikes out there, but I will stick with my Magnum!

What's this!!! Trying to be reasonable!!! We don't allow that kind of talk around here. LOL:D:D:D

I've got a little bit of a rivalry going with some deer hunters over ATV's. All but one own a Polaris. The other has a Kawasaki...what was he thinking:D, and I've got a Yamaha. Each has it's pluses and minuses. I felt like Yamaha had more to offer, that's why I got one. They thought Polaris has more to offer, that's why they've all drive Polaris. I figure they are all probably good machines, otherwise they wouldn't be in business long. To each his own, I guess.

Becareful you'll get Soark cranked up again.:(:(

I like my Polaris but Polaris's Customer Service has to be the worst I ever dealt with. For that reason alone there will never be another Polaris, once this one is gone.I can tolerate allot but when it comes to customer service if I can't be satisfied with the results, then I go else where when making another purchase.

Thats a shame Ruger about your bad experience. Its amazing to me the amount of money spent by companies to get you to buy a product and then some jerk in customer service can waste it all. I have had great luck with mine, and have never had to deal with their customer service, but like you, one bad dealing and it can really sour me. Larry

Yeah Larry it's a shame.I called about a more heat resistant revised belt cover they came out with. I couldn't get any information from the woman. All she knew how to say is take it to your dealer. All I basically wanted was the P/N so I could order it.Then I asked if there was someone else I could talk to. She refused saying no take it to your dealer. She sounded like a broken record.I had called on other occasions with about the same results. When I was on vacation I stopped in a Polaris dealer in Illinois. They knew about the revised cover and happened to have it in stock. 85.00 for a piece of plastic. Behulaboy just got one close to 100.00 now.I got mine about two years ago.I mentioned what treatment I got from Polaris to that dealer. They weren't surprised. They know they deal with them on a regular basis.Mine's a 1997 500 Sportsman. It's had it's share of problems. Thankfully nothing to serious. When it was under warranty the fan motor seized up.If I remember right at 225 hours I needed to change the tie rod ends.I service it annually myself. It's 8 years old and only has right at 300 hours on it.It will probably out last me. If I do get another one it will be a Honda . Just to make my Ol'e buddy Soark happy.

JD - It doesn't suprise me that the 325 mag has been trouble free. I hear alot of "horror" stories about Polaris, but they heve never involved the 325 (atleast in my experience). Folks withy the 325's always have good things to sat about them. Any lack of power is never a complaint.

RE: Polaris

My problem with the Polaris Sportsman 450 4x4 is that the suspension is to soft. If you throw a 100 pound corn sack on the back you cant hardly steer it. Our Big Bear does not have this poblem. Our Polaris snow mobile has less than 1000 miles on it and it has already been rebuilt. Our Yamaha sleads have been treated the exact same way and we have not had a single poblem with them.
