Cabelas Goretex Snake Boots
Does anybody have any Cabelas brand Gortex Snake Boots? I was thinking about buying some since they were quite a bit cheaper than rockies. Just wandering if they were as good as Rockies.

case, I have nothing against boots, but I prefer the chaps. They help protect your legs through briars and you can remove them when your in the stand.;)

RE: Cabelas Goretex Snake Boots
Sniper,
I have both.....but the chaps are to scratchy in the woods.Deer can pick-up the noise from the brush rubbing on them......The best way to go is Chamois Cloth pants and shirt or wool pants and shirt and 16" snake boots...... I've had hunting partners that used chaps, but they Burlaped them... Before the Camo craze everyone up North use to use wool pants and wool Plaid uppers.Wool is the most quietier of all.Down South is alot different it's alot warmer to use wool.Chamois Cloth clothing in camo is better. |

RE: Cabelas Goretex Snake Boots
reb, do your boots bother you? I tried a pair on and they seem very stiff and hard to walk in. Maybe it was the brand, but the pair I tried on felt restricting. Do the soften up with wear?

I use 16" thick socks and 1 size over in boots...... Yes they break-in...... according how often you use them. Your feet get cold cause they Sweat.....I rub them with Unscented Secret Deoderant to keep them dry.... The boots are also Water Proof....... Stay Safe and good Hunting!!!! |
