Lone Wolf Alpha Sit and Climb Treestand

I recently purchased a Lone Wolf Alpha Sit and Climb Treestand. I've used it twice while hunting here in New Jersey during the January permit season. The air temperatures have been brutal cold during the two hunts that I used it. The cams that hold the adjustable strap in place are impossible to open with your hands. Anybody else have this problem? Other than that, I've had no other problem with the treestand. Any way to fix this problem? Loosing the bolt that holds the cam in place will not help. I've done this. Thanks in advance for any input.

There should have been 4 pieces of string loop like material in your package. The instructions will show you how to loop them on the cam levers. Then you just put your fingers in the loop and pull the cam open.

When the weather gets very cold the cams do get a little harder to open and close. I suppose that is the only pitfall of having such a good system. I am guessing it may be due to the cold slightly shrinking the belt.

I have two of these stands although neither are brand new. One I recently bought from a member here......he had drilled a small hole in each of the cams, then tied parachute cord or material like a string loop in each cam like Shaftcaster was talking about.

I have experienced the same problem. If you use a string loop to pull the cam open, it will be much easier. Even in cold weather. Its a great stand anyway.

There were 4 pieces of string supplied with the stand that I installed on the cam levers per the instructions. The second time I used the stand, I broke one of these strings attempting to open the cam. I have a better quality string that I'll install on the cam levers. May get easier with use. Very comfortable stand I must admit. Thanks for the feedback.
