Scope made it Season one.
A Good word or two about the Cabela's Pine Ridge Scope I mounted on my new .450 Marlin. The little Marlin, even ported, kicks like a mule. But, the 2-7x32 Pine Ridge in its Weaver mounts has kept its Zero thru its first season of bumps, rain, fog, cold weather and the other elements of deer hunting.

RE: Scope made it Season one.
Did you have to periodically adjust the mount during the season?

RE: Scope made it Season one.
I have a Pine Ridge on one of my rifles . No complaints .

RE: Scope made it Season one.
Did not need to readjust anything. Scope has kept same zero from sight- in to end of season.

etw, how do you like the 450 marlin? I was very intrigued by this gun and almost bought one, but opted instead for the .444 marlin. I'm helping a buddy of mine find a good gun for the Wisconsin's north woods. He needs to retire his 300 mag. I really like the 450. Does it really kick that bad?

RE: Scope made it Season one.
Hope you guys don't mind me trying to help you out.
450 Marlin with a 350 grain bullet has 37.2 recoil energy 300 Win. Mag with a 180 grain bullet has 25.9 recoil energy According to this chart, the .450 kicks a lot more. Here's a link to the site where I found the info. [link]http://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm[/link] |

BFR, have your friend buy a Marlin in 45-70. There are light factory loads that won't beat you to death and there are loads from Garrett loaded as stout as the 450.
