I was looking at a Burris also. I read several reviews, went to the local shop and done some side by side compairisons. The scopes looked fine but not as good as the Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-III (in MY opinion). Given the customer service horror stories I have read oll over the net and heard 1st hand from a local dealer, I decided to pass on the Burris. I'm still looking at the Nikon Monarch & VX-III for my A-Bolt Stainless Stalker .270WSM

Burris, Leupold, and Nikon are all about on the same playing field in my book. I just got a VX-III, and it does exceptionally well in low light conditions. It also has great eye relief. I've also got a Nikon Buckmaster. It is a very good scope for the price. I can notice a little difference between it and a Monarch and VX-III, but not much. I've never used a Burris, mainly because Nikons and Leupolds are a lot easier to come by around here.

I have a Burris 3x9x50 fullfield II with ballistiplex. I got it at a REAL good deal but if i was looking at buying one for retail price i would go with a leupold 3x9x50 vxII. it is a far superior scope . i have two vari x II in this mag and love them.

I have a signature series burris also and am not impressed with it either. they just don't draw the light as well as leupold. from my experience of course .;):D

The upside to the Burris is when you start shooting the big magnum rifles. They have solid one peice aluminum tubes and are just a tougher scope for rifles with heavy recoil. I do agree that their clarity is not as good as the Leupold or Zeiss Conquest but if you shoot a rifle with heavy recoil, Burris really is a better choice.

well lets see it sure is funny that everyone compares scopes to one major brand. that brand is leupold. i think that says alot that everyone compares a certain scope to leupolds!

I like Leupold, but Burris is good, and they have a good guarantee.
