Game Ears...

Hi,

Does anybody use these? Do they really help? It seems to me that they are hearing aids on steroids. That being the case, what happens to your ears when you actually shoot the firearm? Admittedly, I haven't done much research on them, but it seems to me they could be quite harmful to the ears.

Any thoughts and/or guidance?

Thanks

I been using them for about 6 or 8yrs. They have a shutoff when you shoot..and actually protect your eardrums. The gunblast is much, much, louder without them than with them. The only problem using them is telling direction of sounds..they can take a little getting use to for some.

It is hard for me to pin point a sound, also it takes awhile to learn and listen for certain sounds, They amplify other sounds in the woods such as birds, bugs and crickets and about any other sound you might hear in the woods, Unbelievable what you can hear with them though. Especially when its real quite in the woods.

On some of them, when there is a noise above 85 decibals, I think it is that high, the aids shut off.
