The trappers, surveyors and forestry companies in my area are not given free quads by the manufacturers. They pay for the machines, the parts and the service and they do not use polaris.Just out of curiosity Shootem up870,how old are you?

nope i dont. have ridden every kind out there and when i go out ridin at my uncles and friends and i get on the sportsman and his neighbor comes along with me and i end up pulling him home u think im going to want the kind he was on? no, im going to like the wheeler that got me where i needed to go without problems.
Exactly shootem up 870. i have owned and been riding them since the 70's. i have ridden with many and like you just said i wouldnt want the kind that had to be pulled home. and 9 times out of 10 that has been a polaris.
I understand your loyality to polaris cause you have ridden them more. when you get ready to buy your own please look at the others hard. better yet when you are riding down the roads see whats in more trucks and trailers and which ones are older. in arkansas you LOTS of old hondas still going.
i used to ride with a friend who had a old yamaha 225 three wheeler. that thing was a dependable machine.

i guess i just don't like to throw my money away. my old kawasaki 300 bayou 4x4 is 13 years old and been through some rough rides i can go out in the garage and start her up right now.
just look around before you buy.;):D

Yall want to know something yamaha is the best atv company ever so yall just shut up, go buy a yamaha and get it over with. The people who say they get lemons lie because I know millions of people who have them and have no probelm with em! Oh yeah and try to put a honda up against my kodiak ILL KILL IT! Do this to many times.
Well mr wake i have to disagree with your lemons and lies statement. sooner or later every company sells a lemon ....NOTE every company!
It how that company conducts themselves to resolve the problem that matters.

and while i will admit that i am looking at yamahas rhino i will have to disagree with your kodiak killing a honda statement. and just exactly what do you mean?
mud riding ......speed.....what?
my honda is not the fastest but for riding through the rough stuff and pulling a load it would VERY hard to "kill".
different wheelers for different intentions .

I know millions of people who have them
Millions of people who have them?really? The first thing that I say when someone claims that they know "millions" of people that have them is B.S.Just how many Yamaha quads do you think even exist in your state?Or in the entire USA for that matter?Since you have already proven yourself a liar why would anyone belive anything that you say?

stubblejumper,
im 16. so b/c im younger than you does that mean im wrong. and i know for a fact u were going to say something along those lines. just b/c im a quote on quote kid does that mean you are right and im wrong?

at least u partially listen to me.
wouldnt that mean since i have rode lots of polaris and none of them have broke and riden not as much but still a lot of the other brands that have broke that polaris in general are more reliable? maybe im wrong let me know if i am.

i under stand why u prefer other brands over polaris and hopefully u understand why i prefer polaris over other brands.

the fact of the matter is that people are going to buy what has worked for them in the past regardless of what other people who have problems with their machines say. am i not right there?

RE: Polaris atv's!!!!!!!want one??????

Shootem up870 yeah you have had more time on a polaris than others and that will probably influence your decision when you buy your own. But just as i tried to tell my friend with the 700 sportsman before he bought it i tell you. avoid them!

He regrets it now and actually if he wasn't so busy travelling he would have a honda. he has decided to take his shaft that he is going to get for buying the polaris. meaning he has has already tried to trade and they offered him almost nothing! he paid WAY to much for that hunk of junk and now he is going to lose to get rid of it.

but folks can buy what they want . IMO i would say buy honda ,yamaha, suzuki or kawasaki and stay away from polaris. oh and artic cat is not high on my list but it is higher than polaris!

Honestly i couldn't care any less your age i will tell you the same thing i say to my son who is 14. be careful and wise how you spend your money it's hard to come by so buy the best you can and be picky.
And uhhh don't let ride be the only factor!;):D

The way that you were talking led me to believe that you were very young. It means that you have a lot less experience riding and maintaining a variety of quads compared to most of the rest of us.Your main concern is having fun riding them and you have little insight as to the maintenance or repairs that are performed on them. When you start paying for quads and for the parts and equipment that is necessary to maintain them, and start doing the maintenance yourself, you will see why reliability is so important to many of us.A 16 year old simply does not have the same priorities or responsibilities as an adult so we do see things differently from you.

actually i have do have insight on maintenance and repairs on quads. i have helped my friend fix his wheelers and his dirtbikes b/c i know how to. not that im a freakin mechanic but i have the ability to look at something and say "hey that isnt right it should be like this" or go look something up in the owner's manual. i learned how to fix things the same way my dad did. i read about it until i can figure out how to do what i need to fix the problem. i know how to change oil, check coolant level, bleed brakes, adjust idle. its all just a bunch of stuff that can easily be learned by reading. and if you have to do more than that then the 4wheeler probably isnt serving its purpose is it? my friends honda had a brake part that broke on him. he now has no back brakes. all he has to do is replace a small rubber boot but he doesnt have the knowledge to do it. all he needs to do is to by the factory shop manual and he could have the job done in 1/2 hour. it all depends on the person and how much time u have on ur hands. if he would get off the couch for 1 hour he could fix it.
