Lone Wolf bowhunting climber
A buddy of mine is looking to buy a new climber and he is possibly interested in the Lone Wolf bowhunting climber stand. I told him to hold off on buying it until I got some feedback from this forum. Any info. on this stand would be appreciated. He's trying to decide between the Lone Wolf and a Summit.

RE: Lone Wolf bowhunting climber
I have the Lone Wolf Sit and Climb. I got it late last last year and have used it about 5 times. So far, I like it very much. I used it during both warmer and extreme cold weather hunts. (Colder hunts-more bulky clothing etc) It is very light and manueverable when climbing. Carrying is a breeze too. Comfort level is nice and it has a built in bow holder in the platform so your bow sits upright in between your legs as you sit. This allows for quick access to the bow. Another bonus is the strap that hooks around the tree. It's a belt type system that uses a locking type cam so there is no bolts etc. (See their website for a better explanation.) It makes set up quick and easy and quiet. Very quiet climbing too. More quiet than any other climber I have used before. I hope this helps......

I've got 5 climbing stands and 2 of them are Vipers© I can't speak for the LoneWolf but Iv'e not FOUND AN EASIER, QUICKER, QUIETER STAND TO PUT UP© I'm not going to sit here and tell you you're not going to make any noise setting it up the first few times, because you may© However, after you have learned ¥and it only takes a few times¤ precisly how to handle the coated cables, you can put this stand up without making and unatural sounds© The loudest thing I hear when setting this stand up, is the material of what I;m wearing, sliding against my skin©
The week after Hurricane Floyd came through NC, a few years ago, I went 80 yard into a woodlot that bordered a small thicket© I knew the deer would be bedded less that 60 yards from me© 30 minutes before dark I arrowed a beautiful 8 pointer that was 4 steps from my tree ¥that was the only shot I had¤© The Viper was the only stand in my arsenal that I could have done this with© Like I said, I'll not say that you'll never make a metal clanking sound with this stand, but it is the only stand I've seen that you can be smooth as silk with, and is either more or just as comfortable as any stand I've sat in for bowhunting© Oh, and by the way, the bar that is in front of you when your seated is in no way in the way© In fact, it makes a perfect bowholder© Note: the deer I shot was only four steps out© The shot was virtually straight down and out a little© Rut'n & Strut'n |

Big E,
Nothing against this site but if you want to find a ton of information on Lone Wolf. Go to the Bowsite and do a search on Lone Wolf there. I would like to have a Lone Wolf sit and climb plus a Summit Goliath. May have to get them both. The Lone Wolf does have a bow holder in the center of the platform but you need the accessory rubber gromet to protect your bow's finish from the metal bow holder. Sag.
