Looking for Shotgun Scope Info
I've always either used buckshot or used a slug barrel with the open sites. Well i'm purchasing a slug barrel with scope mounts for another one of my guns. I never have had a scope on a shotgun. I'm looking for a good, not overly expensive scope. Also, what is the best size of the scope to get...4x, 1.5-5x, etc. What about the "field of view"?
I would really appreciate any info and help i can get.
Thanks
Andrew

I like the Bushnell Banner Dusk and Dawn 1.5x4.5 but don't know if it will stand up to the recoil. The Bushnell Trophy 1.75x4 and 2x6 are also get shotgun scopes and a step up from the Banners. All have at least 32mm of eye relief which is fine for hunting.
Good luck on choosing a scope, I'd stay away from Tasco, heard to much bad stuff about them.

I have a Simmons2X fixed-power scope (32mm objective lens) on both my 835 Mossberg and my son's 500 Mossberg. They have a diamond reticle which acts as araqnge finder. I've had good luck with them.

I have used a Millit 30mm red dot sight on my slug gun for years . Just put the dot where you want the slug to hit and pull the trigger = dead deer.
