optics and boots
looking for feedback from elk and mule deer hunters...hunting in central Montana for elk/mulies beginning of november. What binos and boots would you recommend. I own a pair of Steiner Predators 8x30. Leaning towards a pair of Leica 10x50 ultravid and Filson Highlander boots. Any suggestions, opinions, and field trial info on recommended gear is greatly appreciated.

RE: optics and boots
Besides my Leupold scope, I carry Leupold 12x50 binos. I've found them to be excellent for long periods of glassing. As far as boots, I normally wear lightweight kangaroo hide boots with Goretex and light thinsulate. I also carry a pair of the new style PAC boots. Found them to be lighter weight than the old PAC's. The time of year you're going, I'd be ready for the cold and snow.

Leica is great glass, you can't go wrong. Filson makes great wool outergear, but boots?? I would look at Danners, they are costly but are tried and true and IMO the best.
