10 x 42 Binoculars
 

Is the 10X magnification going to be too much for hunting in the thick woods of the eastern US? Should I go with 8x instead?

I use 10/42 in East Texas Piney Woods and they work great. I really liked some 10/50 auto focus by Bushnell that I had You could see thru the brush.

This is good feedback since I am moving from the Piney Woods of East Texas to SE Georgia. I also spend some time hunting in PA and IL.

I would go with 8x, the 10X is not easy to hold steady enough through the course of the day.
