RE: OPTICS ?????
First off Leica does not produce their own glass. They buy it from someone else to their specs. Docter optics started out importing East German optics. I don't know the extent of their operations today but they are pretty much an importing company that has optics made somewhere in Europe. A lot of these former Russian controlled countries like Romania and Hungary produce optical glass for a lot of manufacturers.

RE: OPTICS ?????
Do any of the big companies such as Swarovski, Lieca, etc. have a relationship with another company similira to Hoyt/Reflex, or PSE/AR, etc. etc.?

RE: OPTICS ?????
Swarovski bought kahles.
leica has an association with minnox. I have a pair of minnox bino's. I understand they are associated. What are you researching? |
RE: OPTICS ?????
Swarovski-Kahles Leica-Minox Zeiss- Schott who produces the best lenses in the world.
Both of these companies produce very good optics but not in comparism to mother companies. Schott makes lenses for a lot of quality scopes and binos |
RE: OPTICS ?????
Does Schott make lenses for Swarovski and Lieca????

RE: OPTICS ?????
Docter is a company that was once part of the Zeiss corporation........I think it was WWII that made them split, and now Zeiss has increased production, while Docter Optics still makes VERY GOOD/GREAT optics they have not used very good marketing techniques (IMO). They have a new type of lens called an a-sperical lens, that does something special, just not sure what............go to their website and you can read about it there.......
Need to know anything else?? |
