Has anybody tried the new TL "Angle Adjusters"? I got a email from TL today about them. I'm curious how well they work.

I have the new style TL with the rounded edges. Does it slip....Yes. I contacted TL about a year ago with the slipping problem and they sent me new square edged back bars. This helped quite a bit, but I still am not comfortable in the stand. After you slip down a tree 4 foot safety becomes a huge issue. The TL is more comfortable than any other stand I've ever been in, but at a price. I'm now up in my trusty Ol' Man Vision, no slipping there.

TL for the last couple years if you were lucky enough to get a reply basically blamed these slips on user error. Yeah right it's easy to blame someone else for their inferior design.Another member here contacted TL.Sounds like he's getting the run around to.If you have complaints contact TMA. They resolve these issues fast.

I've read all the pros and cons from folks here about their tree lounges. I have the old square model and can only speak for them. I love it!!! I've had multiple back surgerys and this is the only stand I can stay in all day. Although I have to stand up once in a while so I can feel my legs but that's only because of pinched nerves from being cut on. I've never slipped going up, down, or while it's stationary. The best thing is the height you can hunt from. I hunt 30 feet minimum inthe tree and it does wonders in getting your scent away from them there willy whitetails noses!!! I've had other climbers and when the taper of the tree is too much you are out of luck--have to get back down and adjust or move to another tree. With the tree lounge a different angle never bothers me ---I just adjust my platform (while I'm up in the tree which is nice) and I'm ready to rock and roll again. Well there's my 2 cents worth. As with all tree stands the main thing is to make sure you have it attached to the tree securly and then no wories the rest of the day. Rich sorry to hear about your cousin.I knew someone sooner or later was going to get killed or permanently injured.

metalback There is no argument that the early squared model TL's were a great stand.The problems started when it was redesigned to the semi rounded extrusions. They are now going back to the Squared frame.I plan on trying my replacement out over the next 9 days I'm gone to the woods.I will give a report when I return.All I have to say anyone using the semi rounded TL's be extra cautious.When these slips occur it seems like it happens when you least expect it. Wear that safety belt.

i made a call to TL and they assured me that the rounded edge lighter version( no longer made has no problems). they said that the problems with slipping was do to the light weight and that owners of the old heavier square style tube stand arent use to the way the lighter stands climb up and down:eek: i sent an email and im not done with this issue yet! i would even pay for the shipping to get a new old style. im guessing there just gonna send me a square back bar and i will have to look at other options![:@] what burns me even more is that they are selling new stands for a limited time for 199$

liquidorange i think T/L 's reputation has gone down and they are trying to get rid of inventory. i was tempted by the price but as of right now i have enough penthouse stands and shooting boxes that i really wonder how much i would use one.

Well guys I lied to you.I was going to get you a report on the newly revised Bob Hice TL.I was in GA for 9 days and never put the new TL out. I couldn't pull myself away from the JRH Gunslingers.I had a good week. I shot two bucks a 7 point and a 3 point which I thought was a doe in the last minutes of daylight.

Soark, Save your money. When you're ready for a climber check these Gunslingers out.The Treelounges can't compare to these Gunslinger' stands.I regret all the years using a Treelounge once I found these much better stands for a less money.

This was an interesting thread. It started out with all kinds of positive glowing feedback for tree lounge and ending with everyone being pretty upset with T/L. I'm brand new to hunting and stands and all that stuff...I assume this is the website of the company everyone is talking about?

What's the current status there? Is 200 a great price for the basic tree lounge? Is the customer service better now? Will the thing slip on me? I weigh almost 290. Will this thing even hold me up? Do I need to go on a diet?:) YES!

Matt the Treelounge is rated for I believe 280 pounds .The newly revised Treelounge should be like the originals were. They went back to the squared material.I know they've been running a sale lately for 200.00 like you mentioned.If you're set on a Treelounge call and order it asking questions first.Making sure you are not buying the new version with the semi rounded extrusions. Those were the death traps the previous owner redesigned.The original owners are back and the new versions have been discontinued.I have a couple of the JRH Sport Gunslinger's They have a 350 pound model. You can call them and ask for a brochure.After getting my Gunslingers my Treelounges very seldom get used.IMHO a much nice stand for around 250.00 ( + -)

I hear you Soark,I might end up selling the newly revised one. It's never been put on a tree .It is nice when I'm going to be there for a week or so and have 4 climbers out.
