RE: CABELAS DRY PLUS SILENT SUEDE

All,
I agree whole heartedly with Highpower. GoreTex is a trade name for a breathable, waterproof membrane that's used in lots of hunting gear. It's good stuff. However, there are other alternatives that are usually less expensive. Cabelas Dri-Plus is one of them. I've had Cabelas "Packable Rain Gear" jacket and pants with Dri-Plus for over three years now. It's good stuff. Always waterproof. Very wind-proof also. I wear mine over a few layers when it's cold and over just a t-shirt when it's warmer and I'm moving. When it's warm and I'm going up the side of a mountain, I can take it off and fit it into my pack easily. My only complaint is that the pants are cut more like sweat pants than jeans and I personally find that less comfortable.
This is good stuff though. Buy it and you'll like it a lot.
