Binoculars --- 8 x 32 vs 8 x42

Which power would you recommend?

I mostly hunt whitetails in the Eastern US from PA to TX. However, in the future I would like to do some hunt out West. Which power binoculars would better serve my needs?

Thanks.

RE: Binoculars --- 8 x 32 vs 8 x42

I have a pair of 8 x 42 I purchased for last years hunt. I find them to be excellent for my application. I use them for heavy wooded areas and open fields. They are also very nice and clear at dusk and dawn. The 8 x 32 would be smaller but my binoculars are not that bulky that the get in the way. Good luck.....

Both are the same power , 8X .
The second number is the size of the objective lens in millimeters . A larger objective lens lets in more light than a smaller one .
