drippers?

are drippers efective and worth my time?

RE: drippers?

Drippers can be effective depending on how they're used . During the rut I have had deer paw the scrape created below them when the dripper was filled with estrous urine , buck urine , and even my own . I think they function best as a controlled curiosity lure . In the pre-rut estrous urine with a tad of tarsal seems to work best . Post rut I sometimes fill them with apple cider to put food scent into the air during daylight hours . The dripper is positioned to drip behind my set up so I don't run afoul of our baiting reg .

Drippers or wicks work fine , a good way to keep the scent fresh and at a level that the breezes can put it where the deer can smell it

Thats an awesome idea. I might give some vanilla extract a try this season.

This is primarily to attract does ,
they respond to food scent lures much better than bucks do , and I find them tastier than bucks .

Thanks for the Idea. Where I hunt you must shoot a doe before taking a buck, and sometimes the does do not co-operate.

Drippers over fake scrapes are a great offensive tactic. Its a Dominant Bucks natural instinct to indentify each buck in the area so if he gets wiff of an unidentified Buck in the area it drives him crazy especially pre-rut. I've had Bucks lay as many as 10-15 rubs with-in 20yards of a dripper and some of them were very agressive rubs (you can tell the Buck pissed-off). I use "Wildelife research Mega Tarsal" and with great success. Keep in mind, all your hard work can be worthless if you leave any human scent.

FYI: on some drippers the tube is very small and if you hunt in a cold weather climant, depending on the scent they can freeze and crystalize and plug the tube up. Had this happen with "Hawgs" a few times.
