ATV Tires
What are the best ATV tires out there?
|
RE: ATV Tires
What are your conditions.Different tires work better for different uses.If you want an all purpose tire the goodyear mudrunner, gbc gator or maxxis mudbug are a good choice. They all offer much more traction and much better puncture resistance than stock tires. All three also offer fairly smooth rides.

RE: ATV Tires
I have always used Super Swamper style tires from Interco.....
I have used the regular super swamper which is good on mostly dry ground but the treads are a little soft. I currently have the Super Swamper Vampire TSL's which have four inch tractor type cleats......Most people think that they would be rough on smooth ground but this is not so....they actualy drive smother than most tires. These tires are for all terrain and to ensure that you do not get stuck The Happy medium is the Super Swamper Vampire which is two inch cleats.....very excellent tire.....and lasts very long...... |
RE: ATV Tires
Ya know ,I think thats the first time I ever heard
they actualy drive smother than most tires. These tires are for all terrain I'm with stubble on this What are your conditions I have the ITP 589 MS,60% trail,40% swamp and mud. I also have IRS so that smooths out the ride a bit My buddy has the Mudrunners and they smoth out the ride if you dont have IRS. The Super swamper vamps IMO are aggressive mud tire's |
RE: ATV Tires
I have to agee.Vampires are great in the swamp but they are the roughest riding tire I have ridden on.

RE: ATV Tires
My wheeler came with the Titan 489's. For a stock tire I've been pretty impressed with them in mud, and wet snow.

RE: ATV Tires
I am using Kenda Bearclaws and like them a lot. Durable, clean out excellent, ride is good and aggressive for all terrains I encounter (mud, snow, hard pack, swamps, etc.).

RE: ATV Tires
I am running GBC Gators on my Honda 300 4x4. They are great tires in snow and mud, but are a little rough for hard trail riding. Are also a good general purpose tire, but the stock tires are better in my opinion. But you can't beat the puncture resistance of the Gators. I run only 2 psi in them while trail riding, and have rode them with out any air pressure.

RE: ATV Tires
I've heard/read good things about the Goodyear Mudrunners and at some point plan to get some for the rear of my Honda Rancher. They are touted as being a great mud tire with good trail manners. That is they aren't so aggressive that they beat you to death w/ a rough ride.
