Midland G-300 radios and rechargeable batteries
Hi everyone,
I received a pair of the Midland G-300 2-way radios for Christmas, along with the rechargeable batteries and desk charger. There was no instruction sheet included with the charger or the batteries, and my question is: is it safe to leave the radios charging in the charger between uses? (It could be 2-4 weeks between uses). Thanks! |

Hi Raymond,
The radios are 4 inches tall (5 1/4 if you include the antenna), 2 1/4 inches wide, and 1 1/8 deep. For what it is worth, I live in Philadelphia (think big buildings), and I tried them with my wife today. After finding an acceptable channel and privacy code without anyone else on, I turned both radios to "Hi" power (3.5 watts) and proceeded to head out to about a little less than 3 miles from my wife. We were able to hear each other loud and clear. My wife even went inside the house, upstairs and down, and it was always crystal clear! I am extremely happy, and my wife is already contemplating the possibilities when shopping at the mall! Take care, John |

RE: Midland G-300 radios and rechargeable batteries
I got the Nimh batteries and desk charger from Midland - it is an accessory pack to the radio (you can check it out at Cabela's or their website - just search for the radios, and it should be listed as an accessory). So far, they seem great, but to be honest, I haven't really used them that much yet. I am hoping to get out pheasant hunting with a friend on New Years Eve, and I will try them then.
Who makes the batteries that you are referring to? Are they the same as what I have or made by someone else? Do you have a link I could check out? Thanks, John |

Hi Raymond,
Yes I did - thank you for the website. It looks like it will be a good resource for rechargeable batteries. For everyone else on the forum, it is: http://nimhbattery.com/batteries.htm Have a great New Year! -John |
