Sako placement stock

Hi
I am new to the forum from Australia.
I have a number of Sako Finnlights that are starting to get the sticky stock issue.
I was enquiring what is the best replacement stock either in wood or synthetic?
With limited options in Australia I was considering buying in the USA and shipping out but did not want gunsmith work when it arrives.
Thanks

first off welcome to the site
and I have heard of some folks FIXING the stick stock issue by using acetone, to clean the sticky off, restoring things back to a sticky free surface, I have also heard of folks soaking things in dawn dish soap with some luck!
might be worth doing some google search on them things

as for stock makers, a lot depends on what specific model sako you have

McMillan makes some great stocks, not 100% if they have complete drop in stocks, but they should be able to get you darn close, that you can finish at home yourself if neede with a little effort on your side over a true smith being needed!, but even if a smith is needed , it shouldnl;t cost that much!

and there are also ton's of other stock makers that sell replacement stocks

Thanks so much for your reply.

I will message McMillan as seems the best option.
