Default Ankle Support Recommendation

Hello,

Probably a weird one - I rolled my ankle during muzzleloader season, and am worried that it may not be fully healed before first rifle. What do you recommend for extra ankle support that you can wear while in a boot?

I am attempting to avoid buying a tall boot if possible.

Thanks!

Your best bet is a good well fitting boot that is above the ankle. Wrapping or any kind of sleeve will more than likely be uncomfortable.

A simple Cramer or McDavid lace-up brace will serve you well enough. I have used both off and on for various ankle injuries for many years. I don’t like straps, I prefer lace-up braces - better control over the tension distribution throughout the brace, even if it’s a little more difficult to put on. Do not wear one over a thick wool sock.
