rechargeable batteries
Does anyone use rechargeable batteries in their equipment....(GPS,radios, Rino' s)?

Yes. I use NiMH instead of NiCad batteries. They don' t develope a memory like the NiCad' s do so they can be recharged anytime without having to completely discharge them. You do have to be careful and not overcharge them though. They will also hold a charge longer.

I use gell cell' s for my feeder. You can get them really cheap from some of the electronic sites on the web. I made me a charger from an old cell phone charger.

Yes and definitely go with the Nickel Metal Hydride instead of the Nickel Cadmium for the very reasons listed in Ballistictip' s post.

Rayovac has the 15 min rechargeable batteries.
They are Ni MH 2000 mah 4 pack is 12.74 The charger with 2 batteries (I dont know why 2 when it charges 4. I guess to get you to buy more batteries) is 27.84 It is supposed to be a smart charger. I need 6 batteries to start. So i think I am going to spend my $40. |
