where can I get something similar and high quality
![]() I purchased a similar 4 wheel per pulley block model, block and tackle from this company , but with 4 wheels in each pulley, sheave unlike this picture that shows two two wheel pulley sheaves, ,back in the 1970s from a hardware store in Colorado, Ive been looking to buy a second 4 wheel sheave one ever since, its packaging stated it was rated at 1000lbs does anyone know who currently sells these? I don,t see the company listed on line yes I pack it in and use it to lift ELK but the one I own is rated at 1000 lbs and while small its lifted dozens of large elk over the years yes theres lots of larger heavier 2 and three wheel per sheave pulley hoists listed, but this ones pocket size light weight high quality and has worked well for decades on dozens of elk. any suggestions on finding a duplicate? and yes the para cords only rated to about 300 lbs but with it having 4 redundant, multiple passes through the pulleys sheaves it lifts a heavy elk rather easily. as you get older and gain experience you appreciate the better tools available, and if you can get one of these they make lifting a large elk up off the ground to field dress it, with less potential for dirt in the meat a far easier proposition. |
well it took over 6 years, that Ive been looking,
but someone emailed me a link,, THANK YOU!!! http://crosscreektrading.com/shop/hoists/ while $85 for an elk hoist, seems high priced , its a damn bargain and youll understand why , once its used a few times ![]() Cross Creek Trading Co. 225 Bowes Road Chinook, MT 59523 |
glad you found what your looking for
but a bunch of yrs back I bought a few of these things from Harbor freight, I think for about 15 bucks each? not sure what the max rating is on them and they came with cheesy rope, which I replaced I THINK They still sell them too one of mine has been outside now hanging up for about 15 yrs and still working LOL have used it for lifting an atv, and a bunch of deer they are handy little things to have for sure! |
here is a few more, rated at 4,000 lbs , for the cheap too
just do a search for " block and tackle 4:1," and there is no shortage out there form these cheaper one to higher end one's! https://www.sears.com/generic-2-ton-...&blockType=G10 https://www.sears.com/tuf-tug-tuf-tu...1&blockType=G1 |
yes most of those would work, but ID bet the vast majority would be left out of any ones day pack due to the size and weight, issues,
theres no doubt you pay $$ for the convenience of far lower weight and much small easily transported size, in the smaller high quality block & tackle, but I think the trade off is well worth the extra cost..... many may not share that outlook. |
