Custom Camo Outfitter?
Okay, so before I make an idiot out of myself, I need to stress that I have NOT shopped for any camouflage apparel, hunting or otherwise, since my wife and I had our first born. My youngest son, who turned 13 the other day, has been bugging me about something. Back in the day, I used to own SEVERAL camouflage jackets/sweatshirts that were made out of a cotton/polyester shell, with nylon flocking lining, or acrylic jersey shell with vellux lining.
Some of you may know what I mean if you remember some of the older Ace Sportswear jackets, like these two. I'm sorry, but I can't attach the images or use the URLs due to my post limit, so if you type this in Google it'll return the first result for each: "Hooded Rebark camo hunting coat by Ace sportswear in excellent cond sz Medium" "Key® Wolf Mountain® Mossy Oak® Break - up™ Vellux® Lined Hooded Sweatshirt, Regular" Those aren't meant to be a clear indication of the patterns he prefers, those are just to show you the general style of the jacket and the inner material. The ones I used to own had been weathered down by him. Those of you who do remember Ace know they are old, and when you have a kid who runs around with a jacket that is already kind of falling apart.... Doesn't last long. For the life of me, I have been unable to find any like that. Ace wasn't the only brand that made them in those materials. There's also Key Mountain, some Trebark outerwear, etc etc. The thing he likes is the ribbed cuffs and ribbed waste line in different colors instead of covered with the pattern. He loves the soft material inside a lot. Like, most kids in his school are wearing Abercrombie or other stuff, but he likes wearing that type of clothing. I need to know if ANYONE can direct me to a place wear it's easier to find apparel fitting the ones above: the material, lining, and ribbed cuff and waste lines. Or if someone can tell me of an outfitter that can do custom orders using various camouflage patterns. I can find outfitters on Google, but they have preset patterns and don't use the vellux and nylon flocking options for the lining. If there is an outfitter out there that will work with whatever materials I can supply, can anyone please point me in that general direction? I'm not really worried about cost. Or,Hell, if anyone has any they would be willing to sell, I'm open ears. This exact type is hard to find. This was NOT the first place I went to. I've searched Google off and on the last few days. Been recovering from a torn quadriceps, so I have time to kill. He wears a size Large/XL depending on the wear and shrinkage. Also, is it just me, or is there any reason why they've stopped making camouflage apparel in that fashion? I really can't find anything remotely close to them that is still made to this day, and it all appears to be a material not in use anymore. And yes -- I've searched Ebay, Sportsman Guide, and Sierra Trading Post. Not sure where else I can find some like that. If anybody could help me, I would really appreciate it -- Private messaging or posting in here works. If there isn't anywhere to find already made ones, new or older, then I'm perfectly fine with paying for them to be made -- I'd even supply the fabrics and materials to the person doing it, or if there is a website that offers the same services where I can provide the materials and fabrics, that would also help me out too. And yes, I know I'm going to through a lot of trouble just to get him a few jackets like that. Just the way I am about my children. |
