Sitka Gear, Kuiu, First Lite?

Hard to believe that would be anything but an unbiased opinion, when your first and only post is suggesting other vendors, when your signature line is advertisement for a lesser-known, competing brand...

Rob I too have the Sitka gear. I believe you will be pleased with it. I got my son a Sitka jacket to wear to school the second year the zipper failed and they replaced whole jacket. To me that was very impressive warranty. Good luck and ebjoy your rain geas.

I use Sitka as well. The only downside is once you start getting pieces you'll start to acquire more pieces for different situations as you'll like it so well. I have no experience with Kuiu or FL, and Cabela's near me doesn't ever carry FL and i refuse to buy anything unless i can at least try something on & feel it in person even if it's not the ideal size (then go order it off the net)

I'm a Sitka fan, but also like First Lite. I currently own all Sitka, so I won't be switching brands anytime soon. While the Kuiu stuff is pretty good overall, my experience has proven that GoreTex is a better fabric than Toray, when comparing them in wet conditions. If you've ever worn GoreTex waders, versus Toray, you'll notice that the GoreTex definitely breathes better. My biggest decision between Kuiu and Sitka was the factory direct option, versus using an actual retailer. I like buying most of my gear through the same store, so the Sitka gear allows me to do that. First Lite is carried by one of my local shops, so that's why that would be my next choice.
