Thinking of buying a 2004 Yamaha Kodiak 450 in realtree camo. Just wondering if i was making the right choice and what a fair price would be. Thanks.......

Mach, that' s the ATV I' d like to have when I wear out my Big Bear.
the guy that has the ATV television show done a report on that kodiac the other night. he spoke perty highly of it. he should know since trying out and doing reports on ATV' s is what he does. the price was $6,100 i beleive. that' s about $500 to $600 cheaper than the other two he tried out that night. I think one was the Honda 500 and the bombardia(sp) 500. you could probly get it for less than $6,000 at your local yamaha dealer.

This could get some debating going. You may want to looking into something smaller/cheaper if you are only going to use it for hunting.

The 350 to 500 size is ideal for a hunting quad.A 350 will haul any deer there is and a 500 will drag or haul a moose or an elk a little easier than a smaller machine.

I got a deal on a new 03' Kodiak about a 2 months ago. Unfortunately I' ve only had time to put on about 3 hours so far. It was parked out in the rain last weekend while camping/hunting which may have caused this. It needed a little persuasion getting it into gear H or R. Once warm the problem didn' t occur. It only happened one morning. Maybe it was something I did or temp or humidity...? I am still getting used to it. Maybe it need to warm up a little more. I almost bought a Rubicon, if it was offered with 2wd/4wd and a locking front diff I would have bought the Honda solely because of the trans. In my opinion the Honda trans offered on the Rubicon is the best in class. Good luck.

In september of last year. I test drove artic cat 500, honda rubicon, polaris 500, and yamaha kodiak. It came down to polaris and yamaha. For $ 200 more the polaris with independant rear works great for me.
