Isn't it strange

On many forums we'll see expensive boots, expensive rifles and shotguns, expensive hunting clothing and so on.
Then when a fishing and hunting operation closes, the comments are that the prices in the store were too expensive.

Not quite following you, but that's no surprise!

One store here with a few outlets has another sales model. They don't have a large selection but they do have a large size selection. They research the products offered and stock only the best. Prices are high, but their stuff is good.

They also have a used rifle and shotgun section. All the offerings have been through a (over) qualified gunsmith.

I think many stores run into trouble trying to anticipate customer tastes and fancy then get stuck with a lot of stuff that doesn't move.

This store stocks a limited selection, most of the customers are looking for what they carry. Like I said, mostly high end stuff. I've yet to buy anything from them that isn't top notch quality, lasts and works like advertised. Open since 1908.

Price will always be relative to each customer. What one customer finds a good deal, another may consider to lack quality and won't purchase. "Too expensive" can be an easy out which don't always explains why such prices were dictated.
