Ol' Man climbers
It appears to me these are the lightest. This will be my first ever treeclimber.
I want lightweight and sturdy, and of course quiet. I will be using it on WMA' s and may have to toe it aways. Opinions? Thanks. |
RE: Ol' Man climbers
WHen you say the lightest you must mean their titanium models...their regular models are not that light but irregardless they are a well conceived and thought out treestand...dead quiet also which is a plus....I have never sat in their seat for an extended time so I can' t tell how comfortable it will be after a few hours but plenty of people say it is.

RE: Ol' Man climbers
I have used the Ol Man Original for 6 years now & the only qualm I have with it is that it' s a bit heavy(about 25 pounds after I added my personal stuff to it)..When walking a long way though,,I just put my stand,,bow,,& all on my deer buggy & pull it to about 100 yards from my tree so that problemo is solved there..As far as comfort,,I sit all day after the rut kicks in & other than the normal " stove up' s" from bein a statue for 12 hours it' s the most comfortable stand I' ve ever owned..Although they are expensive,,if I were to buy another one,,I would buy the Tritium model simply because of the weight differance..Put in a nutshell(like I need to be at times[:-]),,I like mine better than any on the market..

RE: Ol' Man climbers
i just sold my ol man climber , i didn' t think it was too sturdy , other people swear by them, i got a summit and after only having it for two weeks i already took a nap in it , in other words i have a slight fear of heights in the ol man i was always afraid of falling in the summit i don' t worry about that!

RE: Ol' Man climbers
I' ve got an Ol' Man and this will be the second year with it. I had a Big Shot that was stolen out of my work van, and I chose to save a little money and bought the Ol' Man. Now I wish I had held out for the Big Shot. To me, the Big Shot is more comfortable and sturdy. Not much differance in the weight. But it just feels safer to me.
