Fox Hound

Hey, I started to make a ghillie suit.

It is mainly made of mesh and burlap. I'm still not sure what I'd do for the foliage. I thought I'd use quick snaps and just switch which foliage I will be in so it will be a bit more versatile.

If anyone got any input feel free to share, I'm all ears.

It will be tested on next wild turkey season.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I was thinking. It was already beefy and it break the human shape.

Some pointed out that I don't have foliage, I thought I could slip some between the layers if it was a necessity.

You don't need foliage. All you have to do is break up your outline and blend in, you have accomplished that. I have seen worse looking commercial suits.

You definitely don't need to do anything else. If I hadn't seen you in the first picture standing next to the tree, I would have never picked you out there next to it in the second picture.

Sure looks like a ghillie to me!

My only thoughts were:

1) Drag that puppy behind your truck for a few miles to tatter up your burlap, it'll cut out any sharp lines you have in the strands

2) I gave up on ghillie-ing my legs below the knees. Way too much to snag in the field. Most of the time, I only wear a ghillie jacket or "poncho" with a hood - by the time I sit down, my legs are easily concealed, either in the natural debris, or by slacking the fibers from the top over my legs a bit.

wow, you did a fantastic job. honestly that looks better than most of the suits people pay good amounts of money for.

Looks Fantastic I wouldn't change a thing. I would possibly make another one that has more brown in it for the fall.
