Shooting Sticks vs Bipods

Thinking of getting shooting sticks instead of bipod. Please give me your opinions on which you use and why you like them.

I' m a big fan of shooting sticks. But I usually cut them on the spot. Less to carry with me. I can cut them as long as I need them for that situation. I' ll either leave them on the stand for the season, or take them with me to the next setup. In any case, they are light, don' t affective the balance of your rifle, and are more versital than a bipod.

I have to vote for the bi-pod...it' s one less thing to carry and mine is fully adjustable for any situation. Don' t go anywhere without it. JDinAB

I would also have to go with the bipod. It' s already on the gun so I dont have to carry it.

I' ve used both and I prefer steady-stix over a fixed mount bi-pod. They break down and carry in a belt sheath. They are quick and easy to deploy.

I like using the small Harris bi-pod. One reason is has no effect if I have to shoot freehand or if you have to use a big rock to rest bi-pod on.
