Best Hunting Layered clothing system
Theres alot of layered hunting clothing systems for different temperatures. Im in the market for one. Which one are the best thanks. JIC my budget is ~$300

I have used both Polar Tech and Under Armor's brands of layering products. Both have served me well.
Temps you'll be hunting in the most?
40-70 degrees F
Jeans, t-shirt and your normal undergarments in those temps as either Polar Tech or Under Armor would overheat you. Brink a slicker or rain jacket if you think it's going to rain.
for temperatures mild like that its long underwear for me if i'm sitting still and a sweat wicking combo for days i know i'm going to be on the move more.
don't get caught up buying fancy "hunting specific" stuff that is spot on exactly the same as the athletic gear most of the major sport clothing makers have. |
40-70 degrees I wear uninsulated camo colthing. Throw a light wicking base layer and a jacket for the cool mornings and evenings. For $300 you could get boots, clothes, gloves, and head gear for 40-70 degrees F and still have some left.

-10 to +40 degrees
I have some "Layered" clothing
A shetland wool sweater that's some 45 years old, and worked in -10 weather, while dragging out a deer.
The miracle is the sweater still fits. |
