HuntLINX Software
 

Hey everyone,

I have recently demoed the HuntLINX software and wanted to let people know my thoughts if they were interested in this software. I consider myself to be a pretty good scout when it comes to whitetail and I put in a good amount of time putting past experiences on a map to better understand the whitetail world.

Overall this software has a lot of cool features such as many logos that you can place on the map and tons of features that you can save with each icon such as what type of wind you prefer to hunt at that location, the direction you enter the location, etc. Also you can insert media at locations which is helpful to show what deer you have seen or gotten pictures of with a trail camera.

This is a good software but has many downsides. The biggest is the cost! You can use something such as Google Earth with a few less features but is completely free and gets the job done. Google earth doesn't have the options of different icons but you can upload an image as an icon which is just as good when it is free. Another downside is that this is very time consuming to other software. There is always prompts that pop up telling you what you just did and/or want to do. For example, when you go to delete an icon because you made a mistake there are four separate pop ups that force you to stop what you are doing and press "ok". That takes up way too much of your time.
