Wolverine "Snake Boots"

I seldom truly slam a product, but I will this one.

Seven years ago I purchased a Wolverine brand snake boots ... 18" , lace up, water proff. A combination of leather and cordura exterior. This past weekend I headed out to piece of property that I bought to do some scouting.I tossed these into my truck, headed out. I was in the process of putting the right boot on when I noticed that the heal had fallen off and was laying on the ground. The entire soles of both boots had deteriorated and crumbled under any pressure at all. Never exposed to solvents or fuels. Stored at home in a closet.

I contacted Wolverine. Not much help. Cited that sole compounds and glues deteriorate over time. Offered $25 towards repair. Found no local cobbler willing to even try. So to the garbage they went.

Some might say that 7 years' use is good enough .... but not me. Not the way I cared for these as I do all of my hunting gear. I have Danner boots of similar design that are at lest 2X this age. Look used for sure but are in dang good shape. For certain the soles are worn down but not falling apart !!!

I think a local cobler should do your job! My sister had the same problem, she fixed it at the local cobler and her snake boots are all fine now!
