As far as pads, the Thermarest NeoAir XTherm seems to be the one to beat at the moment. I use the NeoAir All Season, which is the prior generation.

My water filter is the Sawyer Squeeze Filter. It is very light, compact, and works as well as other good filters. (Field cleaning mod)

whats your water source?
i use a katadyne hand pump filter,
filters out the nastiest swamp water,
check the micron rating on the filter you by,
Technologie: Pump filter, AntiClogTM pleated cartridge made
with 0.3 micron glassfiber. Includes activated
carbon granules
Effect: Removes bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae,
spores, sediments. Reduces bad tastes and odors

You might want to check out the Klymit Static V Sleeping pad. Its a pretty cool company that is run by some young guys who support hunting and fishing, unlike the majority of top backpacking manufacturers. Pay attention to where you money goes and what those companies support.
Here is a link to a video review of the static v: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itw8satq72A
