M80xd camera, plot watch battery life
 

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has tried this camera and used the plot watcher mode. I placed 8 new batteries in my camera, came back the next day after about 3500 pics and my battery life was at 2%. Yes 3500 pics is great but lets face it, I cant afford 8 double A's a day.. Has anyone else tried this mode and what is your battery life like?

Has anyone tried the solar panel with plot watcher mode.. Does it help? How long does it last?

I haven't found a trail camera that will double as a plot watcher. They use 2 different technologies.

I just bought 2 PlotWatcher Pro cameras. Batteries will last 4 months at a 10 second delay which is a million pics on 8 AA batteries. I prefer the 5 second delay which reduces battery life to 2 months. The pics are saved in a video format which allows you to view an entire day's activity in a matter of minutes.

This camera is not for you if you are only wanting close up pics of your favorite buck. This is a hunting camera that will show you when deer are using your area, where they are coming from, where they are exiting, information you can use daily while hunting. Can't wait to put mine on fields in Illinois this fall.

I'd look at the settings. I am still testing mine but the batteries have lasted almost a month.
And I am trying rechargeables batteries now.

OK,, Thanks guys.. I called moultrie and believe it or not they say that the SD card may cause battery life to fail tramendously.. They said to reformat my SD card and never use it in anything but a moultrie camer. Never use it in a digital camera or other device.. Well see.
