Leica vs. Swarovski rangefinder binoculars
 

I'm in the market for a new set of binoculars, & I want a set that includes a rangefinder. I've studied both of these manufacturers in 10X42 size, but they seem to be very similar. Has anyone had experience with them & can offers suggestions?

I was in the sporting good business and did a lot of comparisons. This test worked great for me and you will be surprised at the "lack of difference" between Very expensive equipment and middle range equipment.
We did this with rifle scopes:
Placed 6 different weapons with scopes all propped up with pillows blankets all focused in at the same stump approximately 150 yards away... we did this so you could just bend down and look through rather than adjust anything. It was almost dusk and all scopes were placed on the same magnification...some were 40MM & 50MM but we were focused on clarity. Leopold, Swarovski, Burris, Nikon, Zeiss and a old Redfield just for ha ha’s

Overall the Leopold was just as clear as the $ 1200 Swarovski we saw no difference. The Nikon and Zeiss had a edge on Burris (expected)…and of course the Redfield was out of the race but in all fairness it was a old model. My point is this...I believe once you reach a certain level of quality it is hard to tell the difference between what is $600 bucks and what is $1000. What ever you choose see if you can set them up and compare them side by side looking at the same object. Hope this helps!

I do not have the combo. I do have the Swarovski range 30 mm lense rangefinder and a 8x42 mm Swarovski bino. Both are a few year old and still superb. The rangefinder is essentially a Swarovski 30 mm monocular. Heavy and bulky compared to these new pocket models, but has proven to be very precise out to as far as I have tested it ... exactly 800 yards. It showed 802. Not much help I know, but maybe gives you an idea of quality.
