playing the wind with scentlok

I know many hunters such as myself are on a really strict scent eliminating regiment and i wanted to know if hunters that take it that serious still play the wind. I still tend to play the wind so i often wont hunt a certain stand and im wondering if i may be makign a mistake?

I'll only hunt a stand if the wind is in my favor because it will only take 1 time getting busted to burn out your stand. I've actually left stands if I feel the wind switch direction for fear that i'll spook a bruiser and change his patterns. I persoanlly think your doing it right but everyone has different opinions. I feel the only way to bag your dream buck is to keep his nose out of the game. Best of luck!

i will have to agree from a tree stand if winds not right, im outta there!! although if im in a ground blind i will give it a shot, ill just close the windows on the side the winds blowing too, so the deer cant get the whiff of me!!

i always hunt the wind even with all the scent equipment in my gear bag but the problem in my area is i hunt creek bottoms that run for miles and the damn wind loves to whirl in the bottom and change directions frequently. So even if i head to a stand with the wind right at that particular moment, who knows what the wind will do as the day goes on.(really pisses me off some times lol)

Play the wind. Scentlok is the BIGGEST SCAM in the hunting industry.

I have had several friends get into this stuff over the years. I know of none that rely upon it now. I know of none that have had anything near the advertised effects. Based upon their collective first hand experience, I have never tried it. I play the wind ... always.

That stuff makes an excellent mouth rinse for hiding the smell of your toothpaste!:cool2:
