Which binos should I get??

I'm planning on getting my husband some Swarovski binoculars for his 30th birthday but I have NO IDEA which ones to get. He uses his binos almost on a daily basis and needs something that can take a little abuse. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Take a look at these ( you did say Swarovski - right ?).

As he is a hunter; you may want to consider these (Binos & rangefinder in one from Zeiss).

Lucky guy is right.

Either of those choices should put a smile on his face.

Thanks for the replies! I think he's pretty dang lucky too :)

Does anyone know what the difference between an 8.5x42 and a 10x42 is? And whats the difference between the EL and the SLC? How far away could you see with these? I'm so confused!

Has anyone had any experience dealing with their warranty department?

The first number with the "X" behind it, is the power (ie. 8 & 1/2 power or 10 power)

8 & 1/2 times or 10 times normal human vision.

The next number is the diameter of the "front" lens (ie 42MM = 42 milliameters).

The larger the "front" lens the better the light gathering ability.

However, the bigger it is, the more weight; as a rule.

Warranty ?? - It's lifetime !

You can never go wrong with a Swarovski. I consider it the best.

Vortex, either the furys or the vipers 8x42. 100% no questions asked warranty. and there glass is as good if not better at 1/2 the price. do some reviews i did lol.

I agree with builder on the Vortex, but I would go with the 15x56 Kaibabs, I can't tell the difference between them and the Swavorski's. And the warranty is the best in the business.
