Are you referring to the military "mickey mouse" boot??? "Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boot Type II". I believe good to -65 degrees

Very warm but heavy and bulky. More suited for ice fishing rather than hunting.

I use to have a pair and used them for hunting but would not recommend. Main use for ice fishing and not hunting. Sole of boot extremely slippery. They were also big and bulky.

They might be antiques!

Standard foot wear here in the winter,Last weekend was -30 still had warm feet. three weeks ago I broke through a thin spot in the ice on a swamp about 12 mi from the house, air temp -18 made a fast run home since everyone was done playing,by the time I got here we had to break the ice [my coveralls were frozen solid] so I could walk into the house, one boot was 3/4 full the other was very wet , but neither was cold.

I have a pair of the white ones, I use them for hunting, I have no problems with there weight or bulkiness, any other boot made to handle the cold as good as they do are going to be equally heavy and bulky. I used to wear Sorrels, they are crap compaired to the Mickey boot. As far as the soles being slick, that is nonsence also!, That is what they are made for, the snow and ice.

My Dad had a pair back 40+ years ago when I was a kid..The White ones with the air valve on the side..I remember they didn't seem to keep my feet any warmer, just cool to wear, way too bulky to walk very far in them

They are the warmest boots I own. Yes, they are heavy, but I agree that any boot designed to be as warm will be heavy too. IMO they are too warm for walking anyway.

Check the Sportsman's Guide for discount prices. You should be able to pick up a pair for around $50. You won't be disappointed.
