The only spotting I every do back east, is at a rifle range well after morning starts.
Inexpensive scopes work good enough at 10 A.M., no shadows, and not a cloud in the sky.

Now I have a Leupold rifle scope that gets used at dawn, in dark shadows, and is great near sunset. For that I needed a Leupold.

I have used the Sequoia and it is a great scope for the price. Especially at $60 bucks off. http://www.bestforhunting.com
