would not go out without it. you will run out of butane cartridges before you run out of pads, connair sells them for their butane travel curling irons and you can get them at beauty supply stores, ive also seen them at walmart.

I used them many times and they are 100%.
Oh man yeah they are the greatest thing since welfare.

I always have one with me or close by.
