turn your stand into sit/climb stand
i sat and looked at my summit 180 max.
i thought, sproul you could turn a open front stand into a sit/climb. i believe you could take that real strong pvc pipe i saw at lowes, use the pvc elbows and make rail that you could sit on.that pipe is very strong and would be quite. you would just slide it over ends of your rails on seat. after getting up in tree, pull it off and tie it on your rope that brought your gun/bow up tree and lower it to ground on rope. when ready to leave, pull it back up, put it on the seat rails, down you go. now you would have a sit/climb treestand on one that was open on front and not a sit/climb. i did not test this idea but i believe there is no way it would not work.you could use aluminum pipe too and bend it but i liked idea of pvc pipe being real quite. you have to get that pipe that is stronger than other pipe.softer plastic pipes would bend but i saw pipe at lowes that is as strong as metal. |
I would get some 1/2" EMT bend paint and the use 2 clevises one on each side to attach. Even better than painting it you could use some of that black foam pipe insulation for some padding

i used it on my summit foot rest in 3/4 inch dia....... |
Saw a pic of a stand that used a nylon belt(actually looked like a seat belt) as the sit and climb portion. After you finished climbing you just slid the belt under the seat.
