Orange Camo?

I'm new to hunting and I was wondering what you folks think or know about wearing Orange Camo clothing while hunting?

I know that it's not mandatory to wear wear orange in NY (were I live), but I intend to wear it anyway. I need a new hunting jacket and can't decide if I should buy a jacket in solid orange, Orange Camo or regular camo and just wear a orange vest? I'm told some states require X-amount of sq inches of solid orange clothing and orange camo won't qualify. Does any one know which states have this rule? Also is orange camo safe enough?

It depends on the state on whether the orange camo pattern qualifies.

Im pretty sure that here in Illinois the orange camo is not an acceptable form of orange. The advantage that it gives you is that it breaks up the solid orange of your clothes since deer cannot really see colors, however they can see solid blocks of the same color.

I think it is safe enough but many states don't allow it. If you do buy it and want to hunt in other states just get an orange vest and orange hat and wear them when you hunt away from your home state.

in PA it does not count, that is what i was always told

we need to have at least 250-300 square inches of blaze orange, which means a vest/coat and a hat of some sort
