Ive used tons of different knives, from Old Hickory to Knives of Alaska. It all depends on what you are using it for, caping, de-boning, quartering, etc. I personally like the Outdoor Edge processing kit when im working on a deer.

I have a fixed blade schrade that has done well on a couple of elk. Bought a gerber skinner and saw combo pack that works really well on deer. Got e Remington fixed blade for Christmas that I have yet to use.

All preference. I've got a bunch, but the one that gets used most is a 35+ yr old Buck 110.

The best knife I think is the Havalon Piranta. It works great for field dressing and skinning, it cuts through just about anything and its nice because it fits right in your pocket. They are not good for prying on bone however. I am an outfitter as well as a meat processor and I use these knives daily in both arenas. All of my guides use them as well and have been very happy with them.

My favorite skinning/dressing knives are the Buck Vanguard (rubber handle) and Buck Outdoorsman. I bought the Vanguard for $18 when Academy Sporting Goods was clearancing them several years ago and that was a great investment.

My favorite utility knive to carry on me when hunting is the Wenger Ranger Hunter Swiss Army Knife. My MIL found one of these in Germany on a trip back there (home for her) and brought it back.

This is by far my favorite hunting knife I have. My dad bought it for me for Christmas probably 7 years ago.

This is mine. I made it from a farrier's rasp.

The 2010 Mora Bushcraft and Buck Woodsman's are my go to knives, but my favorite is the Ontario Ranger 9" Orange Mircata handle.

Default Not a knife man

Never got into high cost knives. Instead got into sharpening knives years ago. Prided myself on sharpening inexpensive knives. The sharpening stones saved on the wallet.
