I like the swing blade !! IMHO it works better than any of the gut hook blades. The snap broke on mine the second time out and one phone call to Outdoor Edge and they sent me a new one !!

I like my Buck 110, my Shrade "Jim Zumbo Elk" knife (a discontinued model), and another Shrade I have that is sort of short and fat and has a gut hook. I don't like gut hooks, but it happens that several of my knives have gut hooks on them. I have a Gerber Gator, but I happen to like the above knives better. I also have a very small Kersaw knive with an about 1" blade that has a clip. I keep this in my Levis as a utility knive for cutting rope etc.

I usually carry a Benchmade 710 now when hunting. D2 tool steel holds a nice edge and is relatively easy to sharpen. I have a pile of buck knives but their 440 steel is a pain in the arse.

I have several knives from all price ranges and the best I have found are Knives of Alaska they are pricey but I feel they are well worth the extra money chad

My "go-to" knife is a Coleman-Western Skinner! I've used it for over 25 years and it is still going strong.
